Alia Shawkat is an Iraqi American actress. She is most famous for her work on the TV show Arrested Development, where she played Maybe Funke.
She was born on April 18, 1989, in Riverside, California, and has appeared on a wide variety of films and television shows since she started acting in 1999. She has also worked as a producer.
Before her rise to fame, Alia attended Palm Valley School.
Alia isn’t the only star in her family. Her father is actor Tony Shawkat, and her grandfather is Paul Burke, who famously was the lead in Naked City.
Throughout her career, Alia has received and been nominated for a variety of awards. She won the Young Artist Award and the TV Land award for her work on Arrested Development. She also won the award for Actress in a Breakthrough Role for her work on Search Party.
