Charles William Boustany Jr.

Charles William Boustany Jr. is a Lebanese American politician, physician, and former congressman. 

He was born on February 21, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana and he is of Lebanese descent. Charles has served as the US representative from Louisiana’s 3rd congressional district as a member of the Republican Party from 2005 to 2017 and practiced as a cardiovascular surgeon at Charity Hospital, New Orleans. 

Before his rise to fame, Charles attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. 

Throughout his career, Charles was the second Republican to represent the Louisiana district with 55-45% of the vote, won reelection with 71% of the vote, and was described as extremely valuable to the agricultural sector of the state by the Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Michael G. Strain.
