Donny George

Donny George Youkhanna was an Iraqi Assyrian archaeologist, anthropologist, author, curator, and scholar, and a visiting professor at Stony Brook University in New York.

He was born on October 23rd, 1950 in Iraq. Dr. George was director of research for the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage when United States troops and their allies invaded Iraq. 

The Donny George Youkhana Dissertation Prize (named in 2011) recognizes the best dissertation on ancient Iraq.
