Dr. Hussam Abbas Fadhi

Dr. Hussam Abbas Fadhi was an Iraqi American doctor and artist. 

He was born on April 24, 1928 in Baghdad, Iraq. Hussam was a highly successful cardiovascular surgeon, and practiced medicine for almost thirty years. 

Before his success as a surgeon, Hussam received his medical license from Baghdad, and immigrated to the United States in the 1950s to further his career. 

Throughout his career, Hussam saved many lives and helped test early versions of heart valve replacements; he also pursued a successful career as a sculptor, and has sculptures displayed throughout the United States.
