Elia Abu Madi was a Lebanese American poet.
He was born on May 15th, 1890 in Bikfaya, Lebanon, and he is of Lebanese descent. In 1911, he published his first collection of poems in Alexandria, Egypt. The following year, he immigrated to the United States, and began editing for several Arabic newspapers and magazines in New York City.
Throughout his life he continued to publish poems and started his own daily newspaper in 1929. The newspaper was called Al-Samir (The Companion).
