Fred Saidy

Fred Saidy is a Lebanese American playwright and screenwriter.

He was born on February 11, 1907, in Los Angeles, California, and is of Lebanese descent. Fred used his sharp wit to turn strong social concerns into subjects for musical comedy.

Before his rise to fame, Fred received his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from New York University.

Throughout his career, Fred received nominations for multiple awards, including the WGA Award for Best Written American Musical and the Tony Award for Best Musical.
