Joe Jamail

Joe Jamail was a Lebanese American attorney and billionaire. 

Jamail was born on October 19, 1925, in  Houston, Texas. He served a semester in the University of Texas at Austin before serving in the United States Marine Corps in 1943. Eventually, Jamail returned to the University of Texas after his time in the Marine Corp in which he earned his B.A. and later earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law.

Jamail’s career started in 1958 when he worked on a lawsuit to represent Pennzoil, whose CEO Hugh Liedtke was Jamail’s close friend. Alongside Jamail’s career, Jamail worked with charity on multiple occasions. A notable charity performed by Jamail was his donation of $15 million to The University of Texas which he formerly attended.
