John Abizaid

John Abizaid is a Lebanese American military officer. 

He was born on April 1, 1951, in Redwood City, California, and is of Lebanese descent. John has served as a general in the United States army and as a commander to the United States Central Command. He also served as the United States ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

Before his rise to fame, John received his bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and his Master of Arts degree from Harvard University. He was also an Olmsted Scholar at the University of Jordan.    

Throughout his career, John received the Defense Distinguished Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Bronze Star.
