Kousa Bil Laban- Tita’s famous Syrian Stuffed Squash in Yogurt Recipe
Ingredients:
- Small Green Squash
- Ground Beef
- ½ Lemon
- ½ Tablespoon of Sugar
- 1 Tub of Greek Yogurt
- 2 Spoons of cornflower
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Minced Garlic
- Water
- Salt
Instructions:
- Carve out the insides of the squash.
- Stuff the squash with the beef and rice mixture.
- Pour ½ of a tub of white greek yogurt into the saucepan- 1 tub is needed for 10 pieces of squash.
- Pour ¼ cup of water into the saucepan.
- Crush garlic cloves and place the minced garlic into the saucepan.
- Mix 2 spoons of cornflower, 2 mint leaves, and a cup of cold water and pour this mixture into the saucepan.
- Mix the dish while it cooks on the highest heat until the dish begins to boil.
- As the dish begins to boil, gently place the squash into the greek yogurt mixture.
- Keep the dish cooking on medium heat for 30-40 minutes.
- When done, garish the dish with some red pepper flakes and minced garlic. Salt as you would like.
