Nada M. Shabout

Nada M. Shabout is an Iraqi American art historian specializing in modern Iraqi art. She was born on January 8th, 1962 in Glasgow, Scotland. Shabout is of Iraqi descent, and she teaches Islamic, Middle Eastern, and Modern art at the University of North Texas. 

Prior to fame, Shabout attended the University of Texas at Arlington, studying art history. She is the president and co-founding board member of the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab World, Iran, and Turkey.

Throughout her career, Shabout has won the 2020 Kuwait Prize for Arts and Literature award.
