Shakira Ripoll

Shakira Ripoll is a Lebanese Latin American singer and songwriter. 

She was born on February 2, 1977, in Barranquilla Colombia, and is of Lebanese descent. Shakira is famous for her numerous albums and songs such as “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Wakka Wakka.” With 145 songs, she has sold over 80 million records, making her one of the world’s best selling musical artists. 

Shakira is also well known for her dancing in her music videos and concerts. She combines Latin dancing with Middle Eastern belly dancing. 

Throughout her career, Shakira has received numerous awards such as Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. 

The name Shakira is Arabic for “grateful.”
