Tom Gores

Tom Gores is a Lebanese American billionaire, founder of Platinum Equity, and owner of the National Basketball Association’s Detroit Pistons. 

He was born on July 31, 1964, in Nazareth, Israel, and he is of Greek and Lebanese descent. Tom has overlooked several hundred deals through Platinum Equity, and supports multiple philanthropic and charitable organizations. 

Before his rise to fame, Tom received his Bachelors in Construction Management Degree from Michigan State University. 

Throughout his career, Tom’s company Platinum Equity has been ranked #31 on Forbes’ Largest Private Companies list and #23 on Forbes’ Largest Private Companies List. Tom was featured on the April 2010 cover of Mergers & Acquisitions magazine as its “Pro of the Year.”
